|Services Provided:||The Center for Youth & Family Solutions is a United Way agency offering a variety of services to assist individuals, families and couples. Programs in the local office include: marriage, family and individual counseling, crisis intervention for youth, foster care, and intact services.
The counseling program provides therapy and support to individuals, couples, and families as well as support services for pregnancy and parent education. Out services are strength-based and goal driven. For each individual case, our therapist collaboratively enlists clients to tailor realistic alternatives and achievable solutions to their unique situation. The goal for every client is to resolve their specific problem. Out services help keep couples and families together, prepare youth for academic success, help workers be productive, and help individuals adjust to trauma.
The foster care program works collaboratively with families to change the circumstances that led to their children being placed in foster care. The foster care program provides licensing, training, and ongoing support to foster families who provide children with a safe, alternative living arrangement in a time of crisis.
|Comments:||The major focus of the Youth, Family & Community Outreach program is to offer prevention, diversion, and intervention services targeting youth to stabilize families in crisis, prevent juvenile delinquency, and divert youth at risk of involvement in the child welfare or juvenile justice systems.
Intact Family Services is a relatively intense short-term in-home community based intervention program (6-9 months) that works with families who have come to the attention of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and have been indicated by DCFS for child abuse and/or neglect. The program is designed to assist families in addressing the issues that gave rise to the indicated report with the goal of maintaining the children in the home. The program is designed to help families assess their strengths and needs, set goals, identify resources, learn new skills, and change behaviors that put their children at risk.
